Dear Friends
In June we experienced the longest night and shortest day of the year; celebrated fathers, grandfathers and father-figures; commemorated Youth Day; endured bitterly cold nights; tolerated days of water outages in Boksburg; and visited the much-anticipated Open Studio Weekend at my Studio112.

Word of the Month
"Nesh"
"Nesh" is an English dialect adjective meaning "unusually susceptible or over-sensitive to cold weather."
“If you’re feeling a bit nesh in this cold weather, I recommend a cup of hot chocolate and a warm bed.”
Open Studio Weekend
The Open Studio weekend (21 & 22 June 2025) was a wonderful, joyful occasion, with a steady trickle of friends popping in to browse, eat, drink, chat, view and purchase art, and buy raffle tickets, coasters, licence disc stickers and loaves of delicious fresh ciabatta bread.
I was joined by artist Angelique Fink who creates ethereal, spiritual mixed-media paintings.

Sold at the Open Studio

Suggest a THEME for this year’s INKTOBER drawings to get a free entry into the Raffle with a prize worth R1000 (R500 framing voucher from Janbre, R200 PNA gift voucher, free watercolour workshop for you or a friend) if your suggestion is chosen.
